This is who I am

You say I am stubborn and unyielding

Then don’t hasten me to find the solutions

Don’t make me speed my conclusions

I need time to be intentional

To reflect and beware of what I deal

What a waste of time

Just choose… just do it

The echo of your voice reverberates

But still focus eludes my nature

My inner voice tight-lipped

My feelings, emotions and thoughts

All scattered into dismay, oops!

Am not reclusive, just being observant

Because this is just who I am

You say I am antisocial

Wow! Point of correction… selectively social

That I am too hushed and aloof

While you thrive on all kinds of groups

To achieve your end game, fame

I tag along fine with just a few

A tiny group for me superb

For I don’t scream prominence

I rather fancy close friend parties

Just the significant and long-term

Unlike your vast group

That hovers around aimlessly

Draining energy out of everyone, phew!

It’s not that I hate it being too peopley

It’s just that am loving them from afar

While I can still go solo on my matters

Having my quiet and alone time out

Because this is just who I am

You say I am hard to love

And hard to please, hmm!

But I didn’t ask you to throw yourself at me

With all that energy you have exuding out of you

And it’s true I need it simple and on point

For in everything you do

The whys, hows, which, what and what ifs must be scrutinized

That I may not be caught unawares

Else all the plans would be undone, nkt!

Don’t mistake me for being unappreciative

It’s just that I get easily bored and irritable

And sensitive around things and people

Because this is just who I am

Even though you’ve only focused on the minus

I acquired plenty of good luck charms

Am the quality and reliable friend you desire

This makes me a good partner in a course, mmmh!

I am quite observant and a very good listener

I am thoughtful and compassionate

Oh!  Did I mention sensitive?

I have a good intuition

That can save you from manymishaps

This is who I truly am, the cute side of me

Just the introvertedly extroverted me

So don’t force me to mimic you

Because this is just who I am
