Part 1:

Okay, this is it—I’m doing this now! 

No turning back, I’ll figure out how. 

I’ve been waiting forever, I can’t delay, 

What if he likes me? What will he say? 

 

My hands are shaky; my heart feels loud, 

But his smile—it’s soft, it clears the crowd. 

I’ll tell him, “Hi! You’re amazing, you know?” 

No…too much. Maybe a casual “Hello.” 

 

What if he laughs? What if he doesn’t care? 

But what if he smiles and it’s all right there? 

A connection, a spark—it could be real! 

I want to tell him just how I feel. 

 

Okay, deep breath, one step, then two… 

Oh no, he’s turning—what do I do? 

And suddenly—it’s like time froze, 

“Hi, I…” and the rest, who knows.

 

 

Part 2:

I told him how I really feel, 

My words were shaky, but they were real. 

He paused a moment, then looked away, 

And gently said, “I can’t feel that way.” 

 

My chest grew tight, my world felt small, 

I tried to smile, to stand up tall. 

“It’s okay,” I said, though it wasn’t true, 

My heart was heavy, cracked in two. 

 

He walked away, and I stayed behind, 

A whirlwind of thoughts spun through my mind. 

But even in hurt, I softly knew, 

One day, I’ll heal and start anew.

Even as tears ran down my face,

I felt the world a better place.

Although rejected, still I’m blessed.
