"Let's take a walk."

Korn watched as we walked along the river together.

He started following a short distance behind.

He simply wanted to be near them.

He stopped walking.

"What am I doing...?"

He sighed and turned back toward the picnic area.

Narin and I continued along the riverside.

The breeze was cool.

The sound of the flowing water made everything feel peaceful.

"I like places like this," I said.

"But I think..."

"...I'd enjoy any place if you were there."

I looked away, smiling shyly.

"No."

"I only say what I feel."

When we returned, everyone was already eating lunch.

Korn was sitting with the younger children, helping them pour drinks.

He looked up as we approached.

"You two took a long walk."

Narin grinned.

"We lost track of time."

Korn smiled politely.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it."

He meant those words.

That Phawin would choose to walk beside him instead.
