After the first week of school, Mr Blaze during homeroom made an announcement.
"Two days from now will be the start of the Starfall Festival and king David asked our school to host this monumental event this year," Mr Blaze told the class.
The Starfall Festival only happens once every five years to celebrate the shooting stars that saved our world. People celebrate by hanging up shooting star lanterns, preparing star themed pastries, wearing star themed kimonos and dancing in the pattern of a star with loved ones.
The climax and most important part of the event is the final performance by the most prominent students to symbolize the strength of the future generation. Each form had to work together to make each floor feel like an immersive journey through history, the 1st years had to make the dark clouds part, 2nd years had to make the shooting stars part and the 3rd years were tasked with the eye magic part, this way the guests can experience a different part of the world's history on each floor. Though, each form needed some people for the dance with a family member or a friend, Karasu and Nex teased Anas to dance with Rai which he obviously accepted, but for the final performance, the trio were tasked to perform an all-out battle against each other.
"Well guess we need to start training for the battle in only a bit over a day," Nex said.
"Actually, Anas has less than us since he needs to perform the dance with his dearest girlfriend," Karasu said teasingly.
"I will be fine, I will give a good performance in both of them," Anas said with pink on his face.
"The kimonos will look great on all of you," Rai said with an innocent smile.
"Yeah, but don't look too cute or else Anas can't focus on the dance," Nex said with a smile and then got a punch to the face from Anas.
"Although this is a happy event, it's also vulnerable to sneak attacks," Mr Blaze told them.
"I heard that last time when the event was hosted in the palace, the guards caught three Cruel spies, so we have to be careful," Mr Blaze continued.
"Well, I guess we need to get stronger not just for the performance, but also for protecting the guests," Karasu said.
"No need to worry, the first division captain of the Blackwood family came back after a long mission in another kingdom," Anas told them.
"Let's just hope the trainer is not as insane as Amelia," Nex said.
"Um, can I join you guys for training?" Rai asked.
"You don't need to train for the performance, you can focus on the dance," Karasu told her.
"But I want to become stronger, so when you three leave, I can protect myself," Rai said with determination and the trio hesitantly agreed.
After school, the trio along with Rai went to the Blackwood's mansion where they will train under the first division captain. When they got to the courtyard though, "No, no way. You are a terrible liar, Val! Master Anas definitely wanted me to train them, not you!" Amelia said with rage.
"Then how do you explain this letter handwritten by him?" Val questioned. When Amelia spotted them, she dashed towards Anas, "You wanted me to train you guys, right? Please tell me you accidentally wrote Val because he just got back," Amelia said.
"Well, I do actually want him to train us, but you can help train Rai," Anas said. This disappointed Amelia, but at least she is gonna train Rai, so that's something, but Anas warned Amelia not to go too hard on Rai or else, she will get demoted.
"Alright, so I heard you guys are near amethyst rank which is impressive, but it could be higher," Val said coldly.
"Let me see all of your fighting skills and I will give my review," Val told them.
Nex went first, Val said his attacks aren't bad, but the damage-to-magic ratio is terrible. Then went Anas, Val told him that his attacks are a bit too slow, even the sapphire lances, and skilled fighters can dodge them without much issue. Finally, it was Karasu's turn, Val said he has been wasting his own potential by going in at the enemy and his blood is more suited for long range because he is still too weak to go full on melee. Val then told Nex to use his purple magic in its energy form instead of forming a solid, Anas to focus on speed and Karasu to make long range attacks.
While the trio was training with Val, Rai was training with Amelia.
"Not bad kid, your magic output is crazy, though your fighting skills are lacking," Amelia commented.
"If you go full force with your heatwaves, your opponents will melt before they can get to you," Amelia said.
But then, "That's preposterous, spreading out her heatwaves will just make her damage output weaker, if she is in a one on one situation, she has to focus her heatwave onto a single point. If she needs to fight multiple enemies, then she can spread out her heatwaves," Al interrupted.
"Let me demonstrate what I mean, master Rai, try to fight me while spreading out your heatwaves," Al said. When she did that, even Al's trees were holding off her flames and he managed to get close.
"Now, focus your heatwaves into a beam," Al requested. When she did that, a small hole blew through his tree shield and if Al was of similar strength to her, he might have died, this showed her what she should do in different situations.
"Wait, why did you call Rai, "master Rai"? She is not part of the Blackwood's family," Amelia said.
"Did master Anas not tell you? Master Rai is his girlfriend," Al calmly stated, this of course, shocked Amelia to her core.
"Does that mean you two will do the dance together?" Amelia asked and Rai nodded her head.
"Does the rest of the Blackwood family know about this?" Amelia asked.
"Of course they know, and they fully support him since Rai was special," Al said calmly.
The day continued with all of them training till sunset, and then it was time for Anas and Rai to practice the dance and their teacher was Anas's parents, Catherine and Andreas.
"Alright children, let us show you a demonstration of the Night Flower," Catherine said with a smile. The Night Flower was a dance sacred to the Blackwood family and it has been passed down since the start of the family. Their dance was mesmerizing, it almost felt like it was the middle of the night with silver flowers following where ever the couple went.
